NEW YORK--New York Air National Guard Senior Airmen Steven
Jones and New York Army National Guard Sgt. Wayne Stevens patrol the concourse of Grand Central Station on Thanksgiving Day as part of Joint Task Force Empire Shield, the New York National Guard's security augmentation force in New York City. The service members, who normally provide security at transportation hubs spent Oct. 29 to Nov. 18 responding to Hurricane Sandy. Another 100 Guardsmen were on duty as part of the response to Hurricane Sandy over Thanksgiving.
