Governor Shares St. Patrick’s Day with Guardsmen

NEW YORK-- Governor Andrew Cuomo joins Major General Patrick Murphy, the Adjutant General of New York( on the governor’s right) and Lt. Col. James Gonyo, the Commander of the 1st Battalion 69th Infantry and other members of the 1st Battalion 69th Infantry in a special St. Patrick’s Day Mass at St. Patrick’s Cathedral on Saturday, March 16. General Frank Grass, the Chief of the National Guard Bureau is behind the governor. Following the service the Soldiers of the "Fighting 69th led the St. Patrick’s Day Parade-- the world’s largest such event-- as they have every year since 1851.
