FORT HAMILTON, Brooklyn--U.S. Representative Michael Grimm meets with members of the New York National Guard’s Weapons of Mass Destruction Civil Support team here on Friday, April 19. The 22 Army and Air National Guard members are trained to detect and identify chemical, biological and radiological agents when requested by civil authorities. Grimm, who represents the Fort Hamilton area presented the Guardsmen with a Congressional Proclaimation thanking them for their service during Hurricane Sandy and during the response to the Boston Marathon Bombing on April 15. A team from the 24th CST was already on hand that day to assist their Massachusetts counterparts.
