Military Disaster Response Discussed

FORT HAMILTON NY-- Brig Gen. Kent D. Savre commander of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers North Atlantic Division listens as Major General Patrick Murphy the Adjutant General of New York makes a point during a discussion about joint responses to emergencies during a discussion here on Thursday Jan. 9. At right is Todd Rosenblum Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Homeland Defense and Americas Security Affairs. The participants discussed a number of issues that occurred during the combined state/federal response to Hurricane Sandy. The group was also briefed on Joint Task Force Empire Shield Operations in New York City.
