CAMP SMITH TRAINING SITE Cortlandt Manor -- Dr. Anar Patel a resident doctor from Albany Medical Center slowly works a laryngoscope through the throat of a mannequin in order to open the air passage and place an endotracheal tube into the lungs so that bag-mask ventilator can be applied to assist the patients breathing while Col. James Coleman the newly appointed state surgeon looks on.Patel and another resident doctor were on hand at Camp Smith during the medical commands annual training. The doctors were invited to come to Camp Smith on Aug. 5 to become familiar with the Army methods and procedures of operating a field aid station and to give some professional guidance to all New York Army National Guard medics who wanted to perfect their life-saving skills.
