STRATTON AIR NATIONAL GUARD BASE --An LC-130 "Skibird" assigned to the 109th Airlift Wing of the New York Air National Guard sits on the flightline at Stratton Air National Guard Base in Scotia, N.Y. on Feb. 9, 2017 as snow clearing operations begin as a nor'easter storm hits the base. The 109th Airlift Wing operates the only ski-equipped aircraft in the U.S. military and supports operations in theAntarctic, Greenland, and the high Arctic.
