HAMLIN--Soldiers from the 642nd Aviation Brigade load sandbags for use by the a Hamlin resident on Tuesday, May 2, in support of Governor Andrew Cuomo's declaration of an emergency along Lake Ontario's shoreline due to high water levels. The state is making available 365,000 sandbags that will be used to shore up areas of Lake Ontario shoreline which are eroding due to high water levels. The New York National Guard is one of the state agencies the governor has directed to respond.
