National Guard Prepared for Potential Flooding

The Soldiers are assigned to Company B 27th Brigade Special Troops Battalion based in Syracuse N.Y. and deployed August 5 near Watertown N.Y. in order to support local emergency responders. State and local county response forces staged to prepare for possible lake shore flooding from Lake Ontario. 50 Soldiers reported for response duties with an additional 50 Soldiers prepared to respond when forecasted high winds on Lake Ontario caused the potential for extensive flooding in Jefferson and Erie Counties N.Y.
