Chainsaw Training At Camp Smith

CAMP SMITH-- 1st Sgt. Robert Rathbun a member of the New York Guards 102nd Engineers delivers a block of instruction on chainsaw operation and safety at Camp Smith Training Site Cortlandt Manor N.Y. Mar. 6 2018 to memberes of the New York Naval Militia called in to conduct debris clearance missions following a snowstorm on March 2. The New York Naval Militia consists of Navy and Marine Corps Reserve members who volunteer to report for state missions when called. The New York Guard is the states volunteer response force. Two hundred members of the New York Army and Air National Guard and New York Naval Militia and N.Y. Guard have been activated following last Fridays noreaster to local emergency services with debris clearance and traffic control.
