109th Airlift Wing trains with Marine Corps Troops

ALASKA--U.S. Marines with 5th Battalion 11th Marine Regiment load a M142 High Mobility Artillery Rocket System (HIMARS) onto a New York Air National Guard LC-130H assigned to the 109th Airlift Wing during U.S. Northern Commands Exercise Arctic Edge. Arctic Edge 2020 is a North American Aerospace Defense Command and U.S. Northern Command exercise scheduled every two years. The exercise focuses on training experimentation techniques tactics and procedures development for Homeland Defense operations in an Arctic environment. Arctic Edge 20 provides opportunities to validate Arctic capabilities. The 109th Airlift Wing sent 65 Airmen and two planes to the exercise
