Airmen head to Washington

STEWART AIR NATIONAL GUARD BASE --New York Air National Guard Security Forces Airmen load a bus at Stewart Air National Guard Base in Newburgh N.Y. as they deploy to Washington D.C. on January 8 2020. The Airmen are part of a New York force of 1000 Soldiers and Airmen who are supporting the District of Columbia National Guard during the 2021 Inauguration of Joseph Biden. A total of 6200 National Guard Soldiers and Airmen are supporting law enforcement during this period following the January 6 riot during which the U.S. Capitol was invaded.
