WASHINGTON, D.C.-New York Army National Guard Sgt. Kyle Heitzenrater (right) a Buffalo resident and a member of E Company 427th Brigade Support Battalion which supports the 152nd Brigade Engineer Battalion takes the oath of reenlistment in the Rotunda of the United States Capitol in Washington D.C. on January 21 2021 before the John Trumbell paintings of the signing of the Declaration of Independence and the surrender of the British Army at the Battle of Saratoga. Capt. Patrick Halpin administered the oath. Heitzenrater was one of 15 Soldiers from the 27th Infantry Brigade Combat Team on duty in Washington DC from January 7 to January 27 extended their enlistsments at historic landmarks while in Washington.
