Weapons and explosives add to the effectiveness of military missions, but also add a risk of injury or death for personnel. Because of this, training and safety must be paramount, both in combat zones and garrison environments.
In June, the NYNG Safety Office asks everyone to brush up on small arms and explosives safety - they have assembled guidance, reminders and training resources in their June Safety message.
