LATHAM-- Division of Military and Naval Affairs civilian employee Dave Reger, a retired New York Army National Guard Soldier and Marine from 1973 to 1975, cuts a cake alongside Marine Corps Reserve Lance Corporal and Naval Militia member William Newcomb, during a ceremony held to mark the 245th birthday of the Marine Corps on Nov. 10 at New York National Guard headquarters in Latham. Marine Corps Reserve members can serve simultaneously in the New York Naval Militia. Newcomb and other Naval Militia members are on duty at the headquarters assisting in sorting out the finances of the COVID-19 response.
