BUFFALO--New York Army National Guard Soldiers assigned to the 153rd Troop Command and the 152nd Brigade Support Engineer Battalion stand in formation during a National Guard Birthday ceremony held at the Connecticut Street Armory in Buffalo on Dec. 12, 2021, which included Gen. Daniel Hokanson, Chief of the National Guard Bureau. The National Guard claims Dec. 13, 1636, the date on which the Massachusetts Bay Coloney passed a law organizing its militia force, as its birthday.
