JOINT BASE MCGUIRE-DIX- LAKEHURST-- Soldiers assigned to Headquarters Company of the New York Army National Guard's 1st Battalion, 69th Infantry fire 60mm mortars on Range 59c at Fort Dix, New Jersey. The 60mm mortar is a lightweight man-portable muzzle-loaded weapon consisting of a smooth-bore metal tube fixed to a base plate with a lightweight bipod mount and a sight.
