World War I NY Guard members honored

SLEEPY HOLLOW- Combined Color Guards from the New York Guard, the New York City Department of Environmental Protection Police, and the Veterans Corps of Artillery, an honorary military organization, present arms during a ceremony honoring members of the New York Guard who died while protecting the New York City water system during World War I on May 1 in Sleep Holly Cemetery. Forty members of the state militia force died from influenza and accidents while protecting the city water system from sabotage.
