CAMP SIMBA, Kenya-- New York Army National Guard Soldiers deployed to East Africa as part of Task Force Wolfhound and stationed at Camp Simba, Kenya, receive their "combat patches" during an October 12, 2022 ceremony at the base. Combat patches are earned when Soldiers perform 30 days of duty in a designated area. The New York National Guard Soldiers are deployed as part of Joint Task Force-Horn of Africa, and are conducting security missions at U.S. facilities in the region.
