69th marks St. Patrick's Day in Africa

DJIBOUTI--Soldiers of the New York Army National Guards 1st Battalion 69th Infantry Regiment on duty in Camp Lemonnier Djibouti march through the camp on St. Patrick's Day March 17 2023. The 69th has led the New York City St. Patricks Day Parade -- the largest in the world-- since 1851. While the battalions rear detachment marched at home the troops deployed in Africa conducted their own parade4 to keep the tradition alive.
