LATHAM--Major General Ray Shields the adjutant general of New York speaks to members of the New York National Guard headquarters staff during a ceremony held on April 5 2023 at New York National Guard headquarters in Latham New York to mark April 2023 as Sexual Assault Awareness and Prevention Month. Shields emphasized that the New York National Guard takes incidents of sexual assault and harassment very seriously and refers reported cases to civilian law enforcement when possible.
