NY Army Guard Soldiers honor World War II pilot

ROSE, New York --Soldiers of the New York National Guard honor guard receive the remains of 1st Lieutenant John Thomas a World War II Army Air Forces pilot who was killed in 1943 at the Rose Cemetery in North Rose New York on May 20 2023. Thomas was killed in action during a World War 2 bombing mission called Operation Tidal Wave in 1943 and his remains were not identified until 2022.
