NEW YORK-- A videographer for NBC's Today Show films a U.S. Coast Guard rescue drill taking place in New York harbor from the back of New York Naval Militia Patrol Boat 440 on August 3, 2023. Today Show weatherman Al Roker was on board a Coast Guard boat reporting on the story. The Naval Militia assisted by providing a platform for a second camera man covering the story. Patrol Boat 440, which operates as part of Joint Task Force Empire Shield, the security mission in New York, works regularly with the Coast Guard in New York.
