Migrant mission troops visit Stony Point

STONY POINT-- Twenty-two New York National Guard members, along with members of the New York Guard and the New York Naval Militia, approach a lighthouse built in 1826, during a professional development tour the Stony Point Battlefield State Historic Site on Sept. 28, 2023. The servicemembers are assigned to the migrant support mission in New York City, and visited the battlefield to further their military education. On the night of July 16, 1779 Continental Army Soldiers conducted a daring night attack and overwhelmed a British force of 600 men.
