CAMP SMITH-- Lt. Col. Eric Emmerling a field artillery officer assigned to 1st Battalion 258th Field Artillery 27th Infantry Brigade Combat Team New York Army National Guard assumes command of the battalion from Lt. Col. Jeffery Roth during a change-of-command ceremony at Camp Smith in Cortland Manor N.Y. Oct. 20 2023. Roth led the Field Artillery unit whose lineage dates back to George Washington since 2021.
