BELEM, Brazil-- Brazilian Army jungle instructors teach Soldiers assigned to the New York Army National Guard, the 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault), and Army South during a basic Brazilian jungle familiarization course ahead of Southern Vanguard 24 in Belem Brazil Nov. 02 2023. Forty-eight New York Army National Guard troops are among those participating in Southern Vanguard 24, which is an annual bilateral exercise designed to enhance partner interoperability between participating U.S. and Brazil.
