CAMP SMITH --New York Army National Guard Capt. Eric Samson commander of the 719th Composite Truck Company passes the guidon to incoming 1st Sgt. Violet Plaza during a change of responsibility ceremony at Camp Smith Training Site Cortlandt Manor N.Y. Dec. 10 2023. This ceremony marked the change of responsibility from outgoing senior enlisted advisor 1st Sgt. William Perez to incoming Plaza who became the first female in the company's history to assume the role of first sergeant of the company.
