ROSE--Soldiers of the New York National Guard honor guard carry the remains of 1st Lieutenant John Thomas a U.S. Army Air Forces pilot who was killed in action during World War II in 1943 to his final resting place at the Rose Cemetery in Rose New York on May 20 2023. Thomas was one of over 6500 veterans the New York Army National Guard Honor Guard provided honors for in 2023.
