109th Airlift Wing plane flies past volcano

ANTARCTICA--An LC-130 Hercules "Skibird" assigned to the New York Air National Guard's 109th Airlift Wing flies past Mount Erebus, an active volcano in Antarctica, after taking off from the ice runway serving McMurdo Station, the center of United States Antarctic Program research in December 2023. The 109th Airlift Wing flies missions to Antarctica resupplying science stations across the continent.
