ALBANY-- New York National Guard Soldiers assigned to the 42nd Expeditionary Combat Aviation Brigade, along with the family and friends of Chief Warrant Officers 2 John Grassia III and Casey Frankoski, fill the Empire State Convention Center in Albany during a unit memorial ceremony honoring the two pilots held on April 21, 2024. Grassia and Frankoski were killed when their UH-72 Lakota helicopter crashed during a March 8 mission along the Texas border. A Border Patrol officer on board the helicopter was also killed.
