BEN GHILOUF, TUNISIA--New York Army National Guard Sgt. Philip Kim (left) and Spc. Mauricio Hernandez (right), both with the 258th Field Artillery Battalion, coordinate where they anticipate mortar rounds will land in Ben Ghilouf Tunisia on May 3 2024 during exercise African Lion 2024. The New York National Guard deployed 120 Soldiers to take part in the Tunisian portion of the multinational exercise. African Lion 2024 marks the 20th anniversary of U.S. Africa Commands premier joint exercise led by U.S. Army Southern European Task Force Africa (SETAF-AF) running from April 19 to May 31 across Ghana Morocco Senegal and Tunisia with over 8100 participants from 27 nations and NATO contingents.
