BARBADOS-- New York Army National Guard Chief Warrant Officer 4 Matthias Quackenbush, a standardization instructor pilot assigned to the 3rd Battalion,142nd Aviation Regiment Ne provides a safety brief to Soldiers Marines and service members and police officers from Barbados Netherlands Guyana Mexico Dominican Republic St. Lucia and the Grenadines Antigua and Barbuda and St. Kitts and Nevis prior to Fast Rope Insertion and Extraction System training during Exercise TRADEWINDS 24 in Barbados on May 8 2024. Tradewinds is a U.S. Southern Command-sponsored regionally oriented annual exercise and is part of the Joint Chiefs of Staffs Large Scale Global Exercise 24 a series of all-domain military exercises executed alongside Allies and partners around the globe. The New York Army National Guard deployed 45 Soldiers and four UH-60M Black Hawk helicopters to participate in the exercise.
