42nd Division Remember over Memorial Day

GARDEN CITY--Sgt. 1st Class Nicasio Velazquez, left, Retired Brig. Gen. Pat Alesia, president of the 42nd Infantry Division Association,69th Infantry Regimental Historian Bert Cunningham, and Sgt. 1st Class Colin Stewart of the 1st Battalion, 69th Infantry, salute after placing a memorial wreath at the Rainbow Division Memorial in Garden City, Long Island on May 25, 2024. The 42nd Infantry Division was organized at Camp Mills, which once stood where Garden City is now during 1917. A wreath is placed at the memorial during Memorial Day Weekend.
