HANCOCK FIELD-- New York National Guard Airmen assigned to the 174th Attack Wing inspect vehicles as they prepare to go on State Active Duty as part of New York's response to a heat wave on June 17, 2024 at Hancock Field Air National Guard Base in Syracuse. At the director of Gov. Kathy Hochul the New York National Guard placed 50 Airmen and Soldiers on standby to provide general support as part of the response. Half the personnel are on duty at Hancock Field, while the other half are on duty at New York National Guard headquarters in Latham.
