CAMP SMITH TRAINING SITE--New York Naval Militia Staff Sgt. Christopher Vega (left) and Maj. The two are part of the New York Naval Militia's Unmanned Aerial Surveillance Unit which was organized in 2024. The New York Naval Militia is a state defense force which is made up of personnel enrolled in the Navy, Marine Corps and Coast Guard reserves who also agree to perform state active duty when called.
