SCHUYLERVILLE-- A New York Army National Guard helicopter crew based in Latham takes off from an airfield near Schuylerville on the Hudson River on May 7, 2025 during fire fighting training. Flight crews teamed up with Department of Environmental Conservation Rangers on May 7 and 8 to rehearse the skills needed when filling a 660-gallon Bambi bucket with water and then dumping it on a fire. The aviators filled the buckets in the river and then dropped the water in another location while being guided to the target by Rangers.
