LATHAM--Former New York Army National Guard Command Sgt. Maj. Edwin Garris receives the Legion of Merit from Major General Michel Natali the assistant adjutant general, Army, during his retirement ceremony conducted at New York National Guard headquarters in Latham on July 7 2025. Garris, who became the New York Army Guard's senior enlisted leader in 2023, retired after 37 years of military service and deployments in three wars.
