New York Army National Guard Soldiers assigned to Bravo Battery, 1st Battalion, 258th Field Artillery prepare a firing position during their support as the opposing force, or OPFOR, of a training rotation at the National Training Center, Fort Irwin, Calif., in August 2025. The battery deployed 100 Soldiers to support the force on force exercise, supporting the 11th Armored Cavalry Regiment, the training centers full-time opposing force, to be the enemy force for a training rotation.
