Major Sorffly Davius honored in Brooklyn

BROOKLYN-- New York Governor Kathy Hochul speaks during funeral services for New York Army National Guard Major Sorffly Davius on March 27, 2026 at the Christian Cultural Center in Brooklyn. Davius, a member of the 42nd Infantry Division headquarters died while on duty in Camp Buehring, Kuwait as the result of a medical emergency. Davius had deployed to the region with the 42nd Infantry Division in support of Operation Spartan Shield. Along with the governor, New York City Mayor Zorhan Mandani, and New York City Police Commissioner Jessica Tisch attended the funeral, along with Major General Raymond Shield, the adjutant general of New York.
