STOCKHOLM,SWEDEN- New York Army National Guard Soldiers from Troop C, 2nd Squadron, 101st Cavalry Regiment offload baggage from a U.S. Air Force KC-135 shortly after arriving in Sweden for exercise Northern Lights 26 April 25 2026. Northern Lights is a joint training opportunity in which U.S. and Swedish armed forces conduct realistic combat-focused exercises including area reconnaissance and screening operations to build combat readiness and enhance combined operational capacity. The New York National Guard has a State Partnership Program relationship with Sweden's military.
