Mourning A Fellow Soldier and Police Officer

CAMP PHOENIX, KABUL AFGHANISTAN--New York National Guard Soldiers who are also members of the New York Police Department mourn the loss of Sgt. Deon Talyor, a fellow New York Police Department officer, and other Soldiers and Marines killed in action in Afghanistan during a memorial service here on October 30.
Sgt. Taylor was killed during combat operations in Bala Baluk in Farah Province, when the armored humvee he was riding in hit an improvised explosive device.
Sgt. Taylor was ten year veteran of the Army and Army National Guard and was assigned to Headquarters and Headquarters Company 27th Infantry Brigade Combat Team, Syracuse.
