WESTHAMPTON BEACH--Airmen from the New York Air National Guard’s 106th Rescue Wing oversee the loading of an HH-60 Pavehawk Helicopter onto a C-17 Globemaster II cargo plane at Gabreski Airport in Westhampton Beach, Tuesday.
The Pavehawk and more than 20 members of the 106th Rescue Wing are departing for Cape Town, South Africa to participate in Africa’s largest air show as part of the New York National Guard’s State Partnership Program with the South African military. While there, the wing will also be participating in joint search and rescue training while in South Africa.
