10,000 past, present Soldiers Honored in 2010

LATHAM,NY--The 130 members of the New York Military Forces Honor Guard provided military honors at the funerals of more than 10,000 New York veterans and Soldiers in 2010. A team of New York Military Forces Honor Guard members also took first place in the National Guard’s annual honor guard competition held in September 2010 at Fort Snelling, Minn.
In this picture a New York Military Forces Honor Guard team carries the casket of New York Army National Guard 1st Lt. Joseph Theinert, who was killed in action in Afghanistan while serving with the 10th Mountain Division.
