STRATTON AIR NATIONAL GUARD BASE - The propellers of a New York Air National Guard LC-130 assigned to the 109th Airlift Wing make spirals in the early morning rain as the plan takes off for Antarctica on October 14. The flight was the first in a series that Airmen from the 109th will make to support Operation Deep Freeze, the resupply of Antarctica research stations.
