Staff Sergeant Steven Hughes from Co. B, 642nd Aviation, New York Army National Guard, validates a known point on the Fort Drum compass course during Annual Training at Fort Drum. Hughes was checking the course to ensure that Soldiers of 3rd Battalion, 142nd Aviation, were getting accurate readings when they negotiated the course.
The Soldiers of 3-142nd Aviation are training at Fort Drum until April 24 to prepare mobilization and deployment to Iraq this summer.
