ANDREWS AIR FORCE BASE, Md. - Sergeant 1st Class Mike Judge (left) and Spc. Brad Provost, crew members for Detachment 20, C-12 Operational Support Airlift headquartered in Latham, N.Y. react to a quick decompression exercise inside the high-altitude oxygen chamber here on Feb. 25, by connecting their breathing apparatus to an emergency air tank.
The two Soldiers are among ten New York Army National Guard Soldiers deploying to Afghanistan as part of Task Force ODIN, an aerial intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance mission. Every aviation Soldier must pass the high-altitude training before deploying as part of the task force.
Detachment 20 will leave for Fort Benning, Ga. in mid-March for active duty training as part of a larger aviation unit.
