The National Guard turns 383 on Friday Dec. 13. That's the date in 1636 when the General Court of the Massachusetts Bay Colony voted to organize the colony's militia into three permanent regiments. Today these are the oldest in the country. New York can trace it's first militia back to the Burger Guard formed by the Dutch East Indian Company on Manhattan in the 1640s.12 Dec, 2019

The collapsible buckets which are hung underneath the helicopters can dump 560 gallons of water on a fire each time they are used. NEW YORK-- Air Force doctors negotiating a tactical course at the New York Police Departments Rodman's Neck Outdoor Range administer treaterment to a simulated casualty on January 18 in The Bronx New York. Doctors from several Air Force and Air National Guard rescue wings and special operation squadrons took part in the two week Air Force Special Warfare Medical Officer training course which was conducted by the New York Air National Guards 106th Rescue Wing from Jan. 7 to 18. Operating any motor vehicle safely in adverse conditions requires planning and awareness. Operating a tactical vehicle in these conditions also requires training and familiarity with the vehicle.
