Lt. James Reese Europe led the 369th Regiment band during World War I, as well as serving in the front lines, and is credited with introducing jazz music to Europe as the band played across France.

22 Feb, 2024ANTARCTICA--An LC-130 Hercules "Skibird" assigned to the New York Air National Guard's 109th Airlift Wing flies past Mount Erebus, an active volcano in Antarctica, after taking off from the ice runway serving McMurdo Station, the center of United States Antarctic Program research in December 2023. The 109th Airlift Wing flies missions to Antarctica resupplying science stations across the continent.

4 Jan, 2024YONKERS--New York Air National Guard Airmen assigned to the 105th Airlift Wing Honor Guard provide funeral honors for retired Air National Guard Tech. Sgt. Mario Scaduto in Yonkers New York on Dec. 16 2023 accompanied by members of the Stewart Air National Guard Base Fire Department. Scaduto had served in the 105th Civil Engineering Squadron. He was one of over 1900 veterans honored by the New York Air National Guard in 2023.
